Advantages: cooler running, better puncture resistance, lighter weight (hence better handling),
Disadvantages: Small roadside puncture repairers cannot fix them. Needs prober tools so that the tread is not damaged in dismount (mount). No problems in towns. Somewhat higher 'bleed' rate sometimes needing more frequent filling - say one in 10-15 days, cannot be used on very badly rims.

Bear in mind that any dents in the rim caused by going over potholes can result in leaks around the rim.

One way is by removing the tyre and inserting a tubeless tyre plug/patch on the inside. These plugs/patches are mostly from the company Unipatch (OMNI) and are available at most tyre shops nationwide costing about the same as tube patches.
The other method is even easier than repairing a tube tyre as it does not necessitate removal of the tyre from the rim. Infact an owner can fix it himself!!!

For tubeless tyre users a tyre repair kit (made by Unipatch Rubber Ltd) is essential. The kit consists of (1) Spiral cement tool; (2) T-shaped handle tool; (3) Needle for permacure plug; (4) Allen key; (5) Omni vulcanizing fluid and (6) Permacure plugs. And all of these come packed in a separate leather pouch. This kit is available at all Goodyear tyre shops.
